WALES MILLENNIUM CENTRE WELCOMES THE PEOPLE OF WALES TO A FREE PERFORMANCE OF DISNEY’S THE LION KING

26 November 2014 will mark ten years since Wales Millennium Centre first opened its doors to the public. To celebrate this milestone, the Centre wishes to thank the people of Wales for their support over the last decade by offering an exclusive and a unique opportunity to attend a free performance of Disney’s The Lion King.

Made possible by the kind support of Lloyds Bank, Wales Millennium Centre is giving away a full house of free tickets (over 1,700) to the people of Wales for the 26th November performance of The Lion King – ten years to the day since it first opened its doors to the world.

Mathew Milsom, Wales Millennium Centre’s Managing Director said, “Since opening 10 years ago the people of Wales have shown us so much support and loyalty. We as a Centre are indebted to the millions of people who have bought tickets for shows, contributing to our success as a business. Their continued support has enabled us to realise our ambition of bringing the best of the world to Wales and showcasing the best of Wales. We are also extremely appreciative of all the teachers, parents and supporters, including Lloyds Bank, who have enabled over 200,000 young people, many from disadvantaged communities, to have life enhancing arts experiences at the Centre.”

Allan Griffiths, Area Director, SME Banking at Lloyds Bank said “As a principal sponsor of Wales Millennium Centre’s 10th Anniversary year, Lloyds Bank are proud to support such a great project, enabling thousands of people across Wales to appreciate the arts for free.”

Mathew Milsom added “I can honestly say that the people of Wales have truly taken the Centre to their hearts. To show our gratitude we would like to offer the entire population this unique opportunity to join us for this performance of Disney’s The Lion King completely free on 26 November. This is also our chance to possibly welcome for the very first time some people who for whatever reason may never have experienced the magic of Wales Millennium Centre and its Donald Gordon Theatre.”

The Centre is inviting the residents of Wales to apply for the exclusive free ticket offer, which will take the form of a ballot.
